BL7 – Austria

We are based in the beautiful town of Lintz in Upper Austria. Our students come from the city and from the surrounding area and we have modern, custom built facilities which are for the best possible educational and training opportunities for our students.

We are a general & vocational school. In the vocational sector, our main focus is in the retail sector. We therefore aim are preparing our students for retailers, whole salers and suppliers of medical devices.

About 50 teachers work at BS Linz VII; Between 800 and 900 pupils per year

Special focus on integrative vocational training for apprentices. Many of our students involved in vocational courses opt to take the apprenticeship route. Therefore, staff are involved not only in teaching core content but also in monitoring and supporting our students during their apprenticeship in their host companies.

Improve knowledge of sustainability is important for our teachers to encourage them to select green transport options whenever possible to visit our students in their companies, but also for our students when travelling to and from work and also in trying to impress the importance of sustainable development practices in their host companies.

Our school has a strong commitment to sustainability and resource conservation, recognizing its growing importance in the retail sector. We offer comprehensive training programs for aspiring wholesale and retail professionals, where sustainability is integrated into the curriculum across various subjects.

We have developed and implemented modules on sustainable practices, fair trade principles, and recycling strategies specifically tailored to the retail and wholesale sector.

We raise awareness about sustainability among our pupils and co-workers.

Furthermore, we have a network of connections with local retailers and wholesalers, facilitating the dissemination and implementation of project results. We are eager to explore new approaches to sustainability education within all sectors of trading companies.

This ECOSTAR project would provide students with a fun & successful opportunity to learn & cooperate, to boost empathy & skill while sharing their joy & culture, & to overall add to the sustainable development of European diversity via their personal & local contribution & interpretations. This would, in turn, further their own interest in the school’s sustainable development culture, as well as enrich the institution’s experience & know-how, by channels both digital & practical.

But what good is the joy in our lives culture unless we protect that planet that we share it with ? That is precisely what our dedicated staff & students vow to do, given the chance to collaborate with you on this project. Whatever the level of student & teacher involvement, our faculty will each contribute their unique skillset, boosted by years of experience & training – just as our talented Students will piece out the puzzle of taking daily actions to protect our environment, their hearts full of passion to use lessons learned to counter the ecological challenges confronting us all in our European society.

Participation in the ECOSTAR project will enrich the teaching practices of staff and the breadth of learning for students. We had several other opportunities to be a partner in alternative cooperation partnerships for the 2025 call, but we strongly Felt that the ECOSTAR project would be the most valuable to our institution, our students and our teachers, whilst at the same time having the potential for an impact throughout our city of LINZ and upper Austria in our fervent desire to make a difference in regard to sustainable development.
